James? That is a surprise. I thought Libby…
Well, James put together the entire plan.
Libby’s the one who executed it though
I think storywise Libby was the key player, being sort of the middle man, but James was the strategic force behind the Malolo’s.
I guess I was to focused on the story to see that
Libby was great this episode, but it if weren’t for James, Morgan would still be in the game.
James explained in a deleted scene confessional. He worried that Domenick was lying and everyone would vote Angela, only for Domenick to turn around and play his idol on Angela, thereby making her safe and sending a Malolo home. That makes sense to me. You have to put yourself in their position out on the island. They don’t have all the info that we have. They don’t know that Domenick and Wendell were telling the truth about wanting to vote out Angela.
If he was going to play his idol on Angela, he wouldn’t be playing it on himself and would be vulnerable to four votes.
You also have the issue if Domenick is out, the old Malolo’s would unite. Chris and Domenick are not going to work together, so leaving them alone means Malolo can choose a side. So theoretically you could do a 3-3 split vote with the 4 Malolo and 2 naviti. Whereas had you voted out Domenick, Angela may be frustrated, but Morgan could possibly make them realise sticking together is the best option. And then with Domenick not being around, Chris has no reason to steadfast vote against the Malolo’s. And then with Ghost Island essentially being random, a 4-4 split is not great, and the Malolos have just as much chance of being outnumbered by a side that can be mended.
