Vote-out
- Mari Takahashi was voted out 7-3.
- Shannon Elkins in Survivor: Nicaragua, the last old vs. young season, was also voted out 7-3 at the second tribal council.
- Shannon and Mari were both the oldest member of their tribe.
- The player that got seven votes (Shannon/Mari) during this tribal council received four from women and three from men.
- The castaway that got the three votes (Figgy/Brenda) during this tribal council received two from men and one from a woman.
- Shannon Elkins in Survivor: Nicaragua, the last old vs. young season, was also voted out 7-3 at the second tribal council.
Tribal Council
- According to an EW.com interview with Jeff Probst, Hannah now holds the record for longest time to write a vote at tribal council.
Confessionals
- David had the most confessionals in the episode with five.
- He had six in the first episode (the most in that episode as well).
- Sunday was the only female Gen Xer to get a confessional in this episode.
- Lucy once again didn’t receive a single confessional.
- Five other people had no confessionals in this episode (Bret, CeCe, Hannah, Jessica, and Will).
Tribes
- Mari (31) was the oldest member of the Vanua tribe.
- She’s only two years younger than Ken (33), who is the youngest person on the Gen X tribe.
- In Survivor: Panama, Bobby Mason and Melinda Hyder were the same age (32) but were placed on the younger men tribe and older women tribe, respectively.
- She’s only two years younger than Ken (33), who is the youngest person on the Gen X tribe.
Challenge
- The younger tribe won the first immunity challenge and lost the second. This also happened in Survivor: Nicaragua.
Ratings
- Episode 2 received 9.16 million viewers and 2.1/8 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share.
Title
- The episode title “Love Goggles” was said by Taylor Stocker, in reference to his romance with Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa.
