Survivor Officially Renewed For Seasons 37 and 38

CBS officially announces renewals for returning series for the 2018-2019 season!

Today CBS announced renewals of 11 returning television series for the 2018/19 season – which includes another cycle of long-running reality show SURVIVOR. The two most recent seasons, last fall’s Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, and the currently airing Survivor: Ghost Island, have seen an uptick in ratings from last winter’s Survivor: Game Changers, with the series consistently topping the ratings in its Wednesday night timeslot.

Seasons 37 is currently filming in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, which has become a permanent home for Survivor since Millennials vs. Gen-X which filmed and aired in 2016. The 38th season will begin filming in early June in the same location. Inside Survivor understands that both seasons will feature all new players, though Season 38 is still casting and as always plans can change.

Jeff Probst will return as host.

To date, the Network has renewed 12 of the top 20 scripted series; 12 series with 10+ million viewers (more than the other networks combined); and three of the top six most-watched freshman series (YOUNG SHELDON, SEAL TEAM and S.W.A.T.).

Season 37 will air in Fall 2018, while Survivor 38 will likely premiere February/March 2019.
