Things have been a little bit quiet recently regarding Survivor UK, but the action is finally picking up as the BBC has released the first official trailer for the upcoming season.
The teaser was revealed during Saturday’s (July 15) Wimbledon’s Women’s Final, featuring our first glimpse at host Joel Dommett and the 18 castaways set to take part in the world’s greatest adventure game.
“Welcome to a remote part of the world where 18 people will take part in the toughest, most challenging reality show on television,” Dommett says as we see shots of a marooning and some of the immunity challenges. You can watch the full trailer here.
Remarkable Entertainment is behind the upcoming Survivor UK revival, which is returning to television after 20 years off the air. Dommett, who is best known for hosting The Masked Singer UK, was confirmed as the show’s host back in February.
“I’m the new host of the UK‘s Survivor! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!” Dommett said in a previous statement. “A huge thank you to the BBC for trusting me with this. It’s such a hugely popular format all over the world and I’m super excited to help bring it to our sweet little country. Let the tribal councils BEGIN!”
The show is believed to have been filmed in the Dominican Republic and is set to air this fall. Interestingly, the initial announcement mentioned 20 castaways, but the new trailer reveals only 18 contestants.

Excited for this. The British are brilliant TV producers so I am looking forward to give this a try. Hopefully the US production sees their location and decides to give the Dominican Republic a chance. We know Fiji is more beautiful and exotic but I think anyone would choose new & fresh over something we’ve seen for almost 10 years.
