Each week here on Inside Survivor we will be running a fan poll to determine the Player of the Week in Survivor South Africa. Readers can vote for the player that impressed them the most with their strategic gameplay, social skills, and overall performance. The poll will close on Wednesday.
In the fourteenth episode of Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island, we saw the elimination of 29-year-old Strategy Consultant, Kiran Naidoo. It was an uphill battle for Kiran following last’s week close-call, where Anela almost flipped on the League of Shadows alliance before blowing up his own plan. Now, knowing he couldn’t trust Anela, Kiran didn’t have anywhere to turn.
Kiran’s only saving grace was if Chappies lost the Immunity Challenge. Given the run he’s been on, Chappies has become a major threat, and it would make sense to get rid of him should the opportunity arise. However, after winning the Reward challenge, Chappies was able to reenergize with steak and mashed potato, plus the not-so-secret crab dinner he served for himself later in the day.
With all this extra fuel, Chappies went on to win his fourth Immunity Challenge in a row, effectively sealing Kiran’s fate. While he tried to make amends with Nicole, there wasn’t much convincing he could do having voted for her at the previous Tribal Council. And there was certainly no way he could trust Anela again. Plus, with his right-hand man Tyson nursing a leg injury, Kiran was clearly the biggest threat on the beach.
Kiran spoke his mind at Tribal, putting some heat on Chappies and Anela, but nothing he could say would change the outcome. In the end, Kiran was sent to the jury in a 3-2 vote.
The winner of last week’s poll was Chappies with 209 Votes (38.78%).
