Survivor Second Chance: Laura Boneham Talks Vytas Baskauskas

Laura Boneham chats to us about her former tribemate Vytas Baskauskas

Laura Boneham was a contestant on Survivor: Blood vs. Water, where she competed with her husband, four-time Survivor player, Rupert Boneham. Originally placed on the Tadhana tribe, Laura was immediately voted to Redemption Island in a first impressions vote. However, when given the opportunity, her husband Rupert swapped places with her, sending himself to Redemption Island and allowing Laura to continue in the game as part of the Galang tribe. Laura bonded well with her original Galang tribemates, but after the tribe switch she found herself at the wrong end of Vytas’s cunning manipulation and was voted out due to her unpredictability.

Laura has been a big part of the Survivor community ever since she appeared on Survivor: All Stars at the family visit reward challenge, and she continues to be involved with the show and the fans to this day. Having played with Vytas, and fallen victim to his charms, who better to discuss his chances next season. Laura Boneham talks Vytas Baskauskas and his chances on Survivor: Cambodia.

“What was your overall perception of Vytas’s game in Survivor: Blood vs. Water? Pros and Cons?”

My perception of Vytas is he is a decent guy that played a decent game in Blood vs Water. His social game was strong, as he played well with the male egos, and used the victim “I’ve been a drug addict and in prison” sympathy card with the women. Mentally and physically he performed well in challenges. The downfall for a lot of us in Blood vs Water was the emotional conflict involved with playing with or against our loved ones. There is an extra unpredictable dimension of the game when you play in pairs and they are relatives too! There is a deep emotional past at work that we clearly saw in the duel in Blood vs Water with Aras and Vytas. Vytas showed he was still the bully and would play dirty to win!

“How do you think Vytas will change his game on Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance?”

Vytas will most definitely change his game in Survivor: Cambodia – Second Chance. The suave victim card surely will not work with returning players?! I think playing the game alone will be beneficial to Vytas this time around because it is all about him, and now he has a little one at home to motivate him even more! Being a parent changes your whole perspective on life! He will definitely have his eye on the million dollar prize.

“Who on the Second Chance cast is Vytas’s biggest threat? Do you think he’ll butt-heads with Terry like his brother Aras did?”

In my opinion Vytas’s biggest male threat will be Andrew. I think Savage is going to be on fire! Tasha is the female threat because she is my favorite. She is one bad ass woman! I don’t really see Vytas “butting-heads” with Terry like Aras did. Vytas is good at “keeping the peace”. We will see.

“Who on the Second Chance cast do you see Vytas potentially aligning with? Why?”

Vytas will most likely align with Ciera, but people expect that. I could see the wise older men bonding together.

“What is the major thing Vytas needs to avoid this time around?”

Vytas needs to avoid being seen as a physical threat.

“What is Vytas’s secret weapon to win?”

Hmmm, I don’t know that Vytas or anyone else has a secret weapon to win Survivor. There is a lot of chance and luck involved.

“What kind of animal/player will Vytas be this time – Fox (cunning strategist), Bear (strong and loyal), Goat (no chance of winning), or Dead Fish (dragged to the end)?

Being a yoga and math instructor, surviving the horrors of drug addiction and prison, and having a brother who already won Survivor, Vytas definitely has the personality and skills of a cunning strategist/ fox. I think he will go far in this game, and I wish him the best of luck!
