Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols.

Tribal Council

  • Chelsea was voted out 6-2.
    • Karishma is the only other woman on Lairo with votes against her.
    • Tom is the only man on Lairo with any votes against him.
  • Chelsea is the first person voted out who didn’t have 7 votes against them.
    • Ronnie & Molly were voted out with 7 votes
    • Vince got 2 votes at the first tribal council and was voted out with 5 in episode 3.
  • This was the first time Aaron correctly voted this season.
    • Dean hasn’t voted correctly since episode 1.
  • The remaining women on Lairo have perfect voting records.
    • Elizabeth didn’t vote in the first episode, but she’s correctly voted at both tribals where she was able to vote.
  • Dean has voted for Karishma at the last two tribal councils.
  • Chelsea is the first person named Chelsea to not make it to the merge.
    • Chelsea Meissner in One World made it to the Final Tribal Council.
    • Chelsea Townsend in Ghost Island made it to 8th place.
  • Chelsea is the first woman voted out of Lairo.
  • Both Vince and Chelsea voted out the person who was eliminated before them on Lairo.
    • Vince voted Ronnie out.
    • Chelsea voted Vince out.
  • Five men and three women have been eliminated 4th in seasons filmed in Fiji.
    • For men: Gary quit in Fiji, Malcolm was voted out in Game Changers, Alan was voted out in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, Brendan was voted out in Ghost Island, and Rick was voted out in Edge of Extinction.
      • Brendan is the only male that was eliminated 4th in an orange vs. purple starting tribe season.
    • For women: Lucy was voted out in Millennials vs. Gen X, Natalia was voted out in David vs. Goliath, and Chelsea was voted out in Island of the Idols.

Confessionals

  • Noura had the most confessionals this episode with 8.
    • Once again, the person on the Island of the Idols had the most confessionals.
    • She has the least amount of confessionals in an episode for someone who went to Island of the Idols.
      • Elizabeth and Vince both got 10, Kellee got 9.
  • Jack, Janet, and Tom had the least amount of confessionals with 0.
    • Tom is the only Lairo member to not have a confessional this episode.
    • This is the first episode where Jack didn’t have a confessional.
  • Kellee has the highest confessional count of all the remaining players with 14.
    • Dan and Dean have the lowest with 3.

Hidden Immunity Idols/Advantage

  • Jamal found a hidden immunity idol.
  • Chelsea is the first woman voted out with a hidden immunity idol that wasn’t a returning player.
    • Andrea, Aubry, and Kelley Wentworth are the only other women voted out with a hidden immunity idol.
  • Chelsea is the 16th player voted out while in possession of a hidden immunity idol. The others are as follows:
    • James Clement in China (voted out with two hidden immunity idols).
    • Ozzy Lusth & Jason Siska in Micronesia.
    • Brendan Synott in Tocantins.
    • Erik Cardona in Samoa.
    • Andrea Boehlke in Caramoan.
    • Garrett Adelstein in Cagayan.
    • John Rocker & Jon Misch in San Juan Del Sur.
    • Scot Pollard in Kaoh Rong.
    • JT Thomas in Game Changers.
    • Chris Noble in Ghost Island.
    • Aubry Bracco & Kelley Wentworth in Edge of Extinction.
    • Vince Moua & Chelsea Walker in Island of the Idols.
      • This is the first season where two players were voted out with hidden immunity idols, but the players weren’t of the same gender.
        • Ozzy Lusth & Jason Siska in Micronesia.
        • John Rocker & Jon Misch in San Juan Del Sur.
        • Aubry Bracco & Kelley Wentworth in Edge of Extinction.
  •  This is the second season after Micronesia where two players in possession of hidden immunity idols were voted out back to back.
    • Ozzy and Jason were voted out in episodes 10 & 11 of Micronesia.
  • This is the first season where two people were voted out pre-merge while in possession of hidden immunity idols.
    • Both of them were members of Lairo.
    • The only idols left in the game belong to Vokai members.
  • Kelley Wentworth in Cambodia is the most recent woman to correctly play a hidden immunity idol.
    • Coincidentally, Kelley was voted out while in possession of an idol in Edge of Extinction.

Island of the Idols

  • Vince is the only man so far to be sent to the Island of the Idols.
    • He’s also the only person who’s been to the IOI that has been voted out.
  • Noura is the first person to volunteer to go to the IOI.
  • She’s the first person to be offered an advantage as opposed to an idol.
  • Noura is the second person after Elizabeth to lose their vote in an upcoming tribal.
    • Noura is the first person this season to lose their vote but not have it happen in the same episode as their IOI trip.
    • She’s the first person to not go to tribal council following her IOI visit.

Immunity Challenge – “Ow Pairs”

  • Variations of this challenge have been used in 22 out of 39 seasons.
    • It’s been used in The Australian Outback, Marquesas, Thailand, The Amazon, All-Stars, Vanuatu, Guatemala, Fiji, Micronesia, Tocantins, Heroes vs. Villains, Nicaragua, Redemption Island, South Pacific, One World, Cagayan, Worlds Apart, Cambodia, Millennials vs. Gen X, Game Changers, Ghost Island, and Island of the Idols.
      • It was used twice in Vanuatu.
      • Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, David vs. Goliath, and Edge of Extinction are the only seasons filmed in Fiji that didn’t have this challenge.
      • Zapatera in Redemption Island and Takali in Millennials vs. Gen X are the only purple tribes to not win this challenge.
        • Sook Jai (Thailand), Malakal (Micronesia), Solana (Cagayan), Naviti (Ghost Island), and Vokai (Island of the Idols) all won this challenge.

Ratings

  • The fourth episode received 6.91 million viewers and 1.4/7 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share. This is the highest rating of the season so far.

Episode Title

  • The episode title “Plan Z” was said by Elaine at Tribal Council when describing the confusion about the vote.
