Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols.

Tribal Council #1 (Purple Team)

  • Aaron was voted out 5-1.
  • With Jamal being voted out at the previous tribal council, Dean became the highest-ranking male on the post-swap Lairo tribe. He also became the highest-ranking male on the original Lairo tribe after Aaron was eliminated this week.
    • This also makes Dean the only male left in the game that was ever on the Lairo tribe, as the other remaining men (Dan & Tommy) were only on Vokai pre-merge.
  • Aaron voted for every Vokai member whose name starts with J that he was on a tribe with.
    • He voted for Jason in episode 6, Jamal in episode 8, and Janet in this week’s episode.
      • The only one he didn’t vote out was Jack, but he was never on a tribe with him.
  • Aaron Meredith is the only Aaron to be a jury member, as Aaron Reisberger was voted out pre-merge in China.

Tribal Council #2 (Orange Team)

  • Missy was voted out 3-2.
  • Elizabeth and Lauren are the only players to not have votes against them yet this season.
    • Every man has received at least two votes this season.
    • Tommy was the last male player to receive votes this season.
  • With Missy’s elimination, there are double the amount of women left in the game than men (3 men, 6 women).
  • This week, two original Lairo/post-swap Vokai were voted out.
  • With Missy being voted out, original Vokai now has a majority over original Lairo again.
  • Both players voted out in this episode were voted out the first time they received votes.
    • Everybody on the jury so far has been voted out at the first tribal council they received votes at.
  • The youngest man (Jack) and the youngest woman (Missy) that played in this season are on the jury.
  • Missy Byrd is the first Missy to not make it to a final tribal council, as Missy Payne was a finalist in San Juan del Sur.

Twist

  • This is the third time in which a merge tribe was split into two separate “tribes”.
    • The first time was in Fiji, but only one tribe went to tribal council.
    • The second time was in Ghost Island.
      • All three times this “merge tribe split” happened, the season was filmed in Fiji.
  • This is the second time where two teams went to tribal council to vote someone out after being split, the first was Ghost Island.
    • Both times this happened, a man and woman from the less dominant orange tribe were voted out.
        • Ghost Island – Michael and Jenna from Malolo.
        • Island of the Idols – Aaron and Missy from Lairo.

Confessionals

  • Karishma had the most confessionals this episode with 7.
    • She has the most confessionals of anyone in the game currently with 25.
    • Kellee is still in the lead for the highest confessional count in the season with 34.
  • Dan, Dean, Elizabeth, Lauren, and Tommy had the least amount of confessionals this episode with 1 each.
  • This was the first episode this season where everyone in the game received a confessional.
  • Nobody that’s left in the game has had a confessional in every episode.
    • The only players that had a confessional in every episode going into this week’s episode were Aaron and Missy, who were both voted out this week.

Hidden Immunity Idols/Advantage

  • Karishma found a hidden immunity idol.
    • This is the 8th hidden immunity idol that has been in play this season.
      • The only other season to have this many hidden immunity idols present was Edge of Extinction (eight idols) and Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers (nine idols).
  • As Karishma is the first Indian-American to play Survivor, she’s also the first Indian-American to find a hidden immunity idol.

Island of the Idols

  • There was no Island of the Idols segment on this week’s episode.

Immunity/Reward Challenge – “We Will Go Round”

  • This challenge was previously used in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
    • Prior to that season, it was also used in two seasons of Australian Survivor.
  • The orange team consisted of Elaine, Elizabeth, Karishma, Missy, and Tommy.
    • Tommy was on a team with the four remaining original Lairo women.
  • The purple team consisted of Aaron, Dan, Dean, Janet, Lauren, and Noura.
    • They were sent to the old Lairo camp after the challenge.
      • This was the first time Dan and Lauren were at Lairo’s camp.
  • Noura and Elaine won individual immunity.
    • Noura is the first original Vokai member to win individual immunity, and the first post-swap Lairo member to win individual immunity.
    • Elaine lasted the longest and won a reward for her team, which consisted of PB&J sandwiches and the privilege of having their tribal council second.
  • Only women have won this challenge in US Survivor, while it’s been won by one man and one woman in Australian Survivor.
    • Desi won in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
    • Elaine & Noura won in Island of the Idols.
  • This is only the second time two individual immunity necklaces were available post-merge without there being a guaranteed male and female winner.
    • The first was during the same twist in Ghost Island.
    • This is the first time two women won individual immunity during the same challenge.
  • Dean was the last man standing in the immunity challenge.
  • Both players who won immunity last week (Aaron & Missy) were voted out this week.
    • Aaron and Missy’s individual immunity wins last week was the first time two African-American players won individual immunity during the same challenge.

  • Jeremy Lahr

Noura had two confessionals this episode: one talking about Karishma and one talking about getting rid of Aaron. I believe Lauren had only one confessional, though.

  • Ravel

The opposite happened last week when two original Vokai/post-swap Vokai were voted out.

    Thats wrong, isnt?

  • Pranay Das

Last week two original Vokai/post-swap Lairo were voted off, not two original Vokai/post-swap Vokai

  • Lincoln Hall

Just thought I’d point out that it says under “Tribal Council #2” that Kellee and Jamal were post-swap Vokai. Weren’t they post-swap Lairo?
