Episode 4 Stats

Rob Brodeur breaks down all the stats from Episode 4 of Survivor: HHH.

Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Tribal Council

  • Alan was voted out 2-0
    • Joe also received two votes, but he used a hidden immunity idol which negated those votes for him.
      • Joe is the first person from the original Soko tribe to receive votes against him, and he’s also the first person this season to use a hidden immunity idol.
  • Alan is the seventh professional athlete to be eliminated before the merge. The others are as follows:
    • Ethan Zohn (Professional Soccer Player) in All-Stars
    • Ashley Massaro (Professional Wrestler) in China
    • Brad Culpepper (NFL Player) in Blood vs. Water
      • Brad is the only former pro athlete booted pre-merge to return for another season.
    • Cliff Robinson (NBA Player) in Cagayan
    • John Rocker (MLB Player) in San Juan Del Sur
    • Katrina Radke (Olympian) in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
      • Both of the “Heroes” voted out this season so far have been former pro athletes.
  • Alan is only the fourth person to be voted out pre-merge with only two votes against him at the tribal council where he left. The others are as follows:
    • Ibrehem Rahman in Palau.
    • Russell Swan in Philippines.
    • Lucy Huang in Millennials vs. Gen X.
      • Alan and Lucy are the only people in which those two votes are the only ones they received the entire season, as Russell and Ibrehem had two votes against them at a previous tribal council.
  • Cole, Jessica, Mike, & Roark are the only players left that haven’t attended a tribal council.
    • Desi and Joe are the only people from the original Soko tribe that have attended a tribal council.
  • This is the first vote this season which was not unanimous.
    • Ashley is the only person this season so far to cast a vote for someone other than the person voted out at tribal council and not get voted out herself.
      • Katrina voted for Ashley and was voted out.
      • Simone voted for Patrick and was voted out.
      • Patrick voted for Lauren and was voted out.
      • Ashley voted for Joe but was not voted out.
  • This was the first time someone’s vote was blocked by a person on another tribe.
    • Devon is the third person who was ineligible to vote at tribal council. The others are as follows:
      • Cambodia – Joe’s vote was stolen by Stephen.
      • Game Changers – Tai’s vote was stolen by Sarah.
    • This is the third season in a row in which the fourth boot has been eliminated due to an idol being played.
        • Millennials vs. Gen XDavid used his idol on Jessica and Lucy was voted out.
        • Game Changers – Tai used his idol on Sierra and Malcolm was voted out.
        • Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers – Joe used his idol on himself and Alan was voted out.
          • Of these three, Joe is the only person to have used the idol on himself, and the only male to be saved by an idol.
          • All three of those idols were played by a bald man.
          • Both David and Tai got fourth place in their seasons (Millennials vs. Gen X & Game Changers)

Tribe Swap

  • This is the first season that started with three tribes in which a tribe swap resulted in three tribes, as previously three tribes have been dissolved into two.
      • The dissolve happened in All-Stars, Philippines, Cagayan, Worlds Apart, & Kaoh Rong.
  • Each swapped tribe has at least one lone member on it without anyone else from their starting tribe.
    • Ben is the only Hero on Yawa, while Lauren is the only Hustler on Yawa.
    • Devon is the only Hustler on Levu.
    • Roark is the only Healer on Soko.
      • Lauren and Roark are the the only ones of these four to remain on their original starting tribe.

Hidden Immunity Idol

  • This is the first time a tribal idol was found on one beach and used pre-merge while that person was on a different tribe (Joe found the Soko idol and used it while on the Levu tribe). Other pre-merge tribal idols that were used are as follows:
    • Tom Westman (Heroes) in Heroes vs. Villains
    • Russell Hantz (Villains) in Heroes vs. Villains
    • Kristina Kell (Ometepe) in Redemption Island
    • Reynold Toepfer (Gota) in Caramoan
    • David Wright (Takali) in Millennials vs. Gen X
    • Tai Trang (Mana) in Game Changers

Confessionals

  • Jessica had the most confessionals this episode with 7.
    • She had more confessionals this episode than the entire Soko tribe combined.
  • JP is the only person this episode that had 0 confessionals, and things like that.

Reward Challenge “Tangled Up”

  • This is the first official reward challenge of the season.
    • It is the second if you consider the marooning/race to shore in the premiere episode as a reward challenge.
  • This was the first time that the Yawa tribe won a reward this season.
    • This is also the only challenge that Soko has not won this season.

Immunity Challenge “The Colour and the Shape”

  • This is the first challenge in which Yawa came in first place.
  • Soko is still the only tribe that hasn’t lost an immunity challenge.
  • This challenge was named after a Foo Fighters album of the same name.
    • Dave Grohl and Jeff Probst are friends and often vacation together.
  • Other Foo Fighters song references said by Jeff during this challenge are as follows:
    • Monkey Wrench
    • My Poor Brain
    • Times Like These
    • Everlong
    • Long Road to Ruin
      • Another Foo Fighters song called “Hero” has a lyric that says “There goes my hero” and coincidentally, Alan, who was on the Heroes tribe was voted out in this episode.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “I Don’t Like Having Snakes Around” was said by Devon when he found out that Joe lied about Alan & Ashley targeting him.

  1. Nice article, the only thing is shouldn’t Alan be included in the section about voting someone and being voted off, as right now it looks like Ashley was the only person this week to vote Joe.
