Survivor: Ghost Island

Next Time On Survivor – Episode 5

Tillie Reilly makes her predictions for the next episode.

Last week’s episode continued to show that Ghost Island is going to be a fantastic season. Tribal was pretty great but my draft team ended up taking all of the heat between Brendan and Bradley, and I ended up losing my winner pick in Brendan. When it came down to my predictions for Episode 4, I felt like I had won that immunity challenge myself, having predicted almost everything except that Bradley wasn’t the one to go home. Pre-game, I didn’t expect Michael to play as hard as he is but his fake double idol plan was grade A, and he was so close to pulling it off in the end. Sorry, Julia Sokolowski and Will Wahl, but it’s only Episode 5 and I think Michael has played a better game then both of you combined.

Moving on to Naviti, I think we’re beginning to see the start of a powerful threesome between Laurel, Dom, and Wendell. Even though Chris and Dom are the Top 2 contenders to go home on the purple tribe, I think Dom might’ve gotten himself out of a huge hole by working with Laurel. Laurel also said she was working with Donathan but looking at the preview for this upcoming episode, it seems like Donathan may have other plans, so I’m excited to see how this alliance plays out this week.

Let’s get into this week’s predictions…

On Malolo Beach…

Another showmance is in the works and I want to gag. I refuse to write about a showmance all season like I did for multiple episodes last season with Jessica and Cole. Being on a season full of ‘superfans,’ everyone knows that a showmance does not end well, so I’m not sure why it’s a recurring thing. I am unsure of whether Jenna is flirting solely to further her game knowing old Malolo is crumbling, or whether her and Sea Bass are actually falling for each other. Whatever is happening, it seems to be working because Sebastian wants to keep her around. If this is going to be Jenna’s way to make it to the merge, maybe she actually has a game going for herself, one which we’ve barely seen because she’s basically invisible.

Looking at the intro to the preview, Desiree is looking through an original Malolo member’s bag (the bag strap is orange). There’s no way of knowing whose bag it is but I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Malolo loses the reward challenge and one of the original Malolo members pays a visit to Ghost Island. Watching the preview, Naviti seems exceptionally happy during the reward challenge, and if you pause the clip at 00:13 seconds, we see Chris about to score 2 out of 3 points while Sebastian has 0.

On Naviti Beach…

Going back to last week, Laurel and Dom talked about working together, and Laurel told him that she could bring Donathan on board. But when we look at the ‘Next Time’ preview aired after the episode, it seems Donathan may have other plans. We get snippets of Donathan talking to Chris, and then we see a confessional where Donathan admits having bonded with the model and so now he is unsure what to do. Donathan seems like a guy who has a huge heart, and if it comes down to voting out someone who he possibly bonded heavily with, I don’t think he will like that. Aside from gameplay, I don’t see Chris going home pre-merge.

When it comes to Dom vs. Chris, they both have massive edits and they are the reason why Naviti basically has any airtime. When the battle finally happens at tribal council, I don’t think either of them will actually go home.

Looking at both the commercial and ‘Next Time’ previews, usually, I can find small hints about who may attend tribal but not this week, so I had to dig deep to predict that Naviti will lose immunity. Looking at the Malolo scenes from the previews, it seems like they all circle around the showmance or around the idea that one of them went to Ghost Island. What I mean by that is (I think) an original Malolo goes to Ghost Island and that is why we see Desiree looking through one of their bags. Then we see a scene where Desiree is talking to the other original Naviti members on Malolo, which I assume is about something that was found in the bag.

When we turn to Naviti, the battle was built up even more last week between Dom and Chris, and absolutely nothing happened. So maybe they built that battle up for this week. The previews also surround Donathan being in the middle of two alliances. Does that mean, “I’m in the middle on who to vote out at tribal tonight”? Also, when looking at press photos for the immunity challenge, Bradley and Kellyn are both on the puzzle for Malolo, and in the past, they have both killed it at the puzzles, so I expect them to do well on this one also and pull out a win.

Predictions

Who is going to Ghost Island?

I think an original Malolo, either Michael or Stephanie, because Jenna is too busy snuggling up to Sebastian.

Will an Idol or Advantage be found?

I really want to believe one will be found because I want the original Malolo members to make it to the merge. I feel like since Kellyn passed on her chance to play the game, it will be passed to the next person who goes this week.

Who is on the chopping block?

In case I am wrong about Naviti going to tribal, I will answer this question for both tribes.

Malolo – I think the Top 3 targets that have potential to go home are Bradley, Michael, and Stephanie. I think Jenna is safe because she is gaining connections with Sebastian.

Naviti – Dom is safe with his idol unless he doesn’t play it. But I think the Top 2 who have potential to be sent home will be Angela or Chris. Chris is iffy for me. He has an edit that I can see being here until the merge. I think if Donathan bonds enough with Chris, he won’t vote for him, but he will vote for his closest alliance member, Angela.

Will an Idol or Advantage get played?

If Dom feels threatened, he will play his idol, but I think if Laurel reassures him that he is safe, he won’t play it.

Winner Pick After Episode 4

This one hurts. I for sure thought Brendan was an endgame player and I was really looking forward to seeing how his game progressed.

Last week I mentioned that I was considering switching to James as my winner pick and that’s what I’m going to do. If he manages to go out pre-merge also, I shouldn’t try to predict winners this season!

That concludes this week’s blog. The way this season is going, I’m getting pumped to see how the battle goes down post-merge because I feel like this is going to be a hard-fought game. If you have any questions or have a different prediction, drop your comments down below and I’ll check them out.

  1. I think if Malolo goes to tribal, Jenna could be in trouble. I think they would target Jenna both because she has that extra relationship with Sebastian, so could dismantle that alliance, but also she seems the least likely to find an idol/get an idol played. Then whether that ends up in Sebastian flipping, or staying strong to avoid rocks depends. But I agree that they won’t go to tribal.

With Naviti I think there is going to be someone who is collateral damage. Chris would probably want to split the votes, but i could image Donathan/Laurel turning that against them and taking out Angela, or Libby as it seemed she was getting close to Chris.

  2. I feel your pain Tillie Brandon was my pick to. Now I am switching to Michael. I think If I say Chris i’ll get burned at the stake
