Price Is Right Set To Film Survivor Special

The Price Is Right Goes Primetime With 3 CBS Reality-Show Specials.

CBS is no stranger to crossovers between their three most popular reality shows: The Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Survivor. Contestants regularly bounce from one to the next, most famously Survivor all-stars Amber and “Boston” Rob Mariano, who between them have competed on five different seasons of Survivor and two seasons of The Amazing Race. On this current season of Survivor, former Big Brother houseguest Caleb Reynolds has traded in the luxuries of a studio built house in LA for the punishing elements of the Cambodian jungle.

Now The Price Is Right is getting in on the crossover action. The long-running daytime game-show is set to present three evening specials featuring stars from The Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Survivor, according to The Wrap. The three episodes will air later this year – an official air-date has yet to be announced – and will pit a selection of former CBS reality-show contestants against fans of the respective shows.

Drew Carey will host the three episodes but he won’t be alone, as CBS will also be sending over the hosts from the trio of reality-shows. Julie Chen (Big Brother), Phil Keoghan (The Amazing Race), and Jeff Probst (Survivor) will be on hand to help proceedings along and drop references to showmances, pit-stops, and torch snuffing.

The Survivor special films tomorrow, Monday 7 March, in Los Angeles. It has not yet been revealed which former contestants will take part. Recent Survivor: Cambodia winner Jeremy Collins and two-time Survivor player Joe Anglim could be front-runners given their recent cameos in yet another CBS show, long-standing daytime soap-opera The Bold and The Beautiful. The audience will also be made up of former Survivor contestants and superfans.

UPDATE (7 March 2016): The Survivor contestants competing on The Price is Right special are Cirie Fields, Jeremy Collins, Joe Anglim, Kelley Wentworth, Natalie Anderson, Rupert Boneham, “Boston” Rob Mariano, Tina Wesson, and Woo Hwang.

UPDATE 2 (18 March 2016): The official air-date of the Price is Right Survivor Special has been announced as Monday, May 23 at 8 pm.

The Price Is Right is television’s longest running game-show and continues to be a ratings winner for CBS – it is currently airing its 44th season.

  1. I think Corinne, Monica, Tyler, Max, Sierra, So, and Jenn might possibly compete based on instagram posts and snapchats.

  2. The show finally aired tonight, what a dissapointment. Everyone was acting like they had just had 10 cups of coffee. So bad I couldn’t finish the show. I guess the concept looked good on paper. Skills and interesting personality traits don’t necessarily transfer well to another endeavor.

  3. Woo cost the lady the car, talking her into going once more after she said that’s too much five times. Drew ignored her declarations and allowed Woo to badger her to go one more time, costing her the car. Price is right should give her the car regardless, it’s only right!
