After weeks of teaser trailers heralding the return of “The World’s Greatest Game,” Network TEN has announced the premiere date for Season 2 of Australian Survivor.
24 new Aussie castaways will battle it out over a marathon 55 days in Samoa when the series returns to the airwaves on Sunday 30 July 2017 at 7:30 PM AEST.
Although there is no word yet as to the length of the premiere episode or the scheduling of the remainder of the season, it is anticipated that Season 2 will follow the precedent of last year’s debut season and air multiple episodes per week.
In response to fan feedback, Australian Survivor has also announced that it will conduct a live finale, including the announcement of the winner and a reunion show with all 24 castaways. A reunion was sorely missed in the relaunch’s first iteration last year, and this tremendous and unexpected news suggests that production has taken fan response to the series to heart – a promising sign for the season ahead. Further details on the nature of the finale event are yet to be announced.
Jonathan LaPaglia will return to host Australian Survivor Season 2, which will feature a brand new cast of Australian competitors including an Olympian, a lime farmer, a poker player, an escape room owner, an ex-Special Ops commander, a nanny, a plumber, and a fake yoga instructor who, for the first time in Survivor history, will begin the game divided into two monster-sized tribes of twelve.
