Australian Survivor Season 3 Power Rankings (Round 8)

Former castaways Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki and Tess O’Halloran face off!

While the battle between Champions and Contenders is playing out on the islands of Fiji, here on Inside Survivor, an even bigger showdown is taking place. That’s right, Aussie Power Rankings are back, and this time we’re upping the intensity, a Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki, and Tess O’Halloran compete for the Inside Survivor Power Rankings crown!

Round 7 continued Luke’s comeback story, having placed Mat and Benji towards the bottom of his rankings, he once again closed the gap. Sarah and Tess however remain at the top, now drawing level on 166 points each in what is the closest Power Rankings battle in Inside Survivor history. With the endgame in sight, who will claim victory?

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the three power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Australian Survivor Power Rankings Champion.

As Australian Survivor airs multiple episodes per week, the rankings will count for each episode aired that particular week. Placements are adjusted after each elimination to reflect the amount of players remaining and points are then recalculated.

Monika
*says in Tyra banks voice* “You wanna be on top?” How in the miss-universe is Mon going to be anywhere but the top this week? Loyal to no one, yet leaving no feathers ruffled by that fact!?!? Is it because her glowing tan that she keeps so immaculately maintained is blinding her fellow castaways from seeing that in her own way, she’s playing?
1
Brian
He has a very high chance to go on an immunity run. Also with an immunity idol in his pocket, the chance of him losing from here is relatively low. Winner pick!
1
Shane
Shane, in preparing to vote for Brian, called him ‘her friend’, and I have exactly no idea if that was meant ironically or not. Yet, the group around her giggled (except Steve, who did his signature unblinking stare) and moved on. That’s the thing with Shane - she set out the plan weeks ago, in bumbling about looking for the idol on the Chumps tribe. By looking openly and blatantly, she whittled her threatening side away - people just got used to Shane ‘being Shane’ and she seems to have earned a license to do whatever she wants… even move the three logs to less-than-advantageous positions on the fire, and then point this out in tribal council because she clearly did not get the credit she wanted for this wild act of rebellion - cue more giggling and blank Steve stares. Don’t f*** with Shane Gould!
2
Brian
Okay, so the king and queen got dethroned, the godfather got assassinated, so how do we possibly understand the game without a new cringey analogy? Let's say there’s a new Governor-*ahem*-Grubbnor in town... and it’s Brian! I’ve waited weeks to see this guy play the game and now he’s had a taste of the top, I don’t think Brian is coming down any time soon.
2
Shane
I started her rankings at the start of the season as low. She has continued to play the game. Put herself out there to recommend who should leave. If she can explain herself if she gets to the end then she has a high chance of winning.
2
Sharn
Sharn took a couple of big hits in the last round, right in front of the jury. From pooping the idol to her wavering confidence with said idol at tribal council, Sharn looks to be on shaky ground. But, as Sam pointed out in Jury Villa, Sharn is a champion barrister - she doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. She has strong relationships in more directions than anyone else left in the game, including, I suspect, with Monika.
3
Fenella
Fen is safe in the numbers this week. I would be baffled if she were to take any voting heat at all.
3
Shonee
Has seemed to maneuver herself through challenges and being on the bottom. Still has Fenella going into the final run. If one has to go before Shonee, it's Fenella.
3
Monika
Monika got the serious dodo edit in the ads this week (yes, I looked up the ads because RESEARCH! The over-competitive nincompoops doing these rankings are taking it far more seriously than Steve is taking this game to all appearances.) Yet she is set up as a pivotal player determining the game moving forward and has been making all the right moves with a voting record second to none.
4
Sharn
My Sharn bias is strong this week. I know the chick is clearly in trouble but I just have faith that she’ll turn it around like she always does - boy I love me a scrappy player! It would be so sweet to see her address the final jury... and I figure if I will it to happen in my rankings then surely it will, right? Go team Sharn!
4
Sharn
Sharn rhymes with barn and in a barn lives animals and animals have guts which is why I put Sharn in the guts of my rankings. (I wrote this as I just woke up and that sounds like complete nonsense).
4
Shonee
Shonee continues to “fake it til you make it”, slipping through cracks and taking opportunities as they arise. I’m getting Mich vibes from Shonee lately, and I suspect that as that money starts to look less abstract and more like an open bar full of Margies, Shonee’s game is going to step up.
5
Shonee
#1 contender for the #11 Contender to be sent packing. With only two left in the game, Shonee would be the person it makes sense to vote out this week, given her game has largely informed Fen’s game and she’s been playing a pretty brills game so far given her constant bad luck.
5
Monika
Due to her lack of screen time this whole show. Maybe she's getting the Peter/El edit. Won't win but makes it close.
5
Brian
Brian had a break out round last week, which is hard to explain at this stage of the game. He has had such a dominant storyline built around what sounds like middle-age-man prostate and personal hygiene issues. His relationships are fairly new and fragile on the one side, and shaky on the other, plus he has now made himself look like one of the biggest threats left in the game. Can he revert to playing possum? Some more Brian-time staring out into the ocean (probably actually just going out to pee)? Or will Monika go all black-widow on him and eat him for dinner now that he has served his purpose?
6
Shane
Something tells me Gouldy is in trouble this week. I don’t know why... I’m just feeling that time is all but up for this Australian treasure. And quite honestly I just need one of the “Sh” named people to go away this week. It’s hurting my brain.
6
Fenella
I believe the Champs will never let the Contenders outnumber them, which means a Contender will go. Sadly I feel Fenella is that contender.
6
Fenella
Remember one of the approx three full conversations that we got to see Fen take part in? She was talking to Mon and Sharn about keeping the girls together, playing on Monika’s Insta-dreams of inspiring young women. Why did we really see that? Is it possible…? What a beautiful arc in Fenella’s story if she were to go from gritting her teeth and smiling through Zach’s inane ramblings, surviving Lydia’s groundbreaking ‘dead weight’ theorem and nodding along to profoundly relatable fireside chit chat on the Keto diet… to an all-women final 5 featuring all varieties of anti-mediocrity.
7
Steve W
Sharn, Shonee, Shane, Shteve... oops sorry, force of habit. Well it doesn’t seem that Steve has much strategic fight in him at all, so given he looks pretty firm on the bottom I can’t see him attempting to climb up the power ranks this week. Maybe he plans to use transcendental meditation techniques to levitate himself to the top... but is anyone gonna tell this guy that’s not really how this game works?
7
Steve W
Mat's gone, Brian won't want him around as he's the only male physical threat for him. Plus I don't think they get along completely, sooo good run Steve but see ya!
7
Steve W
I see Bronika as the swing between Shonella and the three old Champs. If I were Bronika, I would be looking to swing back to Shonella - Brian, after all, has been cultivating a relationship with the girls and has been looking distanced from Sharn and co, even when voting with them. And why stick at the bottom of a group of five, if you could be half of a four and still have majority… I can see both the social and numbers advantage of sticking with the girls. With fewer relationships (and let’s be real, less game) to protect him from this angle than Sharn, time might be running out for our resident Eeyore.
